Workshops in Kosjerić for the Local Community
Decentralization is a topic to which we always devote special attention in our organization’s work. Every opportunity to visit other towns and cities in Serbia brings us valuable insight into what local professionals from different fields need, the challenges they face, and how mentorship and non-formal education can support them on their personal and professional journey.
That is why we were especially glad to visit Kosjerić twice during September and October, with the goal of empowering key actors in the local community.
Our first visit was dedicated to young people — we talked about how a proactive approach can help them find a mentor who can support them in overcoming both professional and personal challenges. Following the in-person workshop, we also organized an additional online session for those who could not attend on site.
In October, we held a second workshop, this time with representatives of local organizations and associations working in the fields of culture, education, ecology, and inclusion. The workshop, titled “Developing Project Ideas,” took place at AKC Poligon.

The aim of the workshop was to provide participants with support and practical tools for developing project ideas that they can submit to local, national, or international calls for proposals. With more than 20 participants and a full room at AKC Poligon, it was clear how great the need is for capacity building among people in Kosjerić who are already working on and developing wonderful initiatives.
We are grateful to our wonderful hosts at AKC Poligon for their support and organization, as well as to our alumnus Janko Belić for the warm welcome. Our thanks also go to Titan Serbia for their support and for recognizing the importance of initiatives like this in strengthening local communities.
