PRINCIPLES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS
In the venue of Nova iskra, on Saturday June 16th, was held the workshop on presentation and communication skills for the participants of the programme “Creative Mentorship”. Trainer of the workshop was Relja Dereta, professional in the field of communication and presentation skills.
Relja Dereta participated in the first generation of “Creative Mentorship”. Later, he became a partner of the programme, and finally, a mentor in the 3rd generation of the programme (2016/2017). He is one of the founders and director of Epic Assistants, with more than 10 years of experience as a consultant and trainer of presentation and communication skills. He advises global experts, managers, scientists, lecturers, creative workers and many others in formulating their ideas. He worked with more than 400 speakers, and many of them were participating at TEDx conferences. In the period 2010-2015 he worked as a teacher and project coordinator at the Tango Natural Institute, contributing to making it the largest organisation of this type in Europe, and one of the largest in the world. He was also a coordinator of the School of Activism, where hundreds of young people have been taught the activism skillsand organised numerous projects. Relja is also a member of the Board of Directors of Civic Initiatives. Recently, he becamea member of the Advisory Board of “Creative Mentorship”.
During the workshop, the participants of the 4th generation had the opportunity, through various exercises, to learn more about the basic principles for the development of communication and presentation skills. Together with the trainer they went through the process of preparing for communication, defining the structure of a presentation, adapting the content of the presentation to the audience, establishing better contact with the audience, learning techniques to overcome stage fright and stress. Now it is up to mentees to exercise on their own all this techniques they have learnt.
