“Creative mentorship” affirms mentoring as a tool of personal and professional development, strengthens the capacities of the cultural sector and provides support to prospective professionals interested in developing, networking and sharing knowledge and experience. We want to build, gather and support a community of motivated and socially responsible individuals that will contribute to the development of a society based on creativity, culture, knowledge and mutual cooperation.

INTRODUCTURY TRAINING – KICK OFF FOR NEW GENERATION OF CREATIVE MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME

An introductory training – Kick Off, within the 5th cycle of the Creative Mentorship program was held on September 21-22. in Belgrade.

On Saturday, the training was held at the Cultural Center “Grad” and was attended by mentees and mentors of the 5th cycle, as well as some of the representatives of partners and friends of the program. At this event, all mentoring couples of the 5th cycle saw each other in-person for the first time in the program, but also got a chance to meet the whole group and to get all the necessary information and tools to start a mentoring relationship that will last for a year. The training was held by Pamela von Sabljar from Sweden, who has dedicated the past 20 years to directing people towards behavioral change through self-leadership principles while working with individuals, companies and organizations. Participants got a chance to learn more about different skills aimed to fulfilling their full potential in accordance with their own values and personal mission, to learn more about the way how to observe mistakes as an opportunity to learn and other useful techniques that they can use for their own development as well as to build a successful mentoring relationship.

The introductory part of the training on the first day was led by the Creative Mentorship team, with the goal to provide more information about the program, its goals and structure, as well as basic guidelines for participants. During the afternoon part of the training, participants were given the instructions and basics for using mentoring tools and mentoring manual. Also on Saturday, Michael Brooke, Cultural Affairs Officer of the United States Embassy in Belgrade, which has supported Creative Mentorship program for many years, and Dragica Bojanić, (CPO – Chief People Officer) from Trizma, one of the sponsors of the program wished a good start and a successful year on the program to all participants. After the training, a cocktail was organized for all participants, alumni members, partners, sponsors and friends of the program.

The second day of training was held at the”Artget” Gallery of the Belgrade Cultural Center. The first part of the training for the mentees the 5th generation, was held by Pamela von Sabljar. During this part, alumni mentees – Maja Bosnić, Maša Seničić and Ana Babić shared their experiences, and a video of Lana Nikolić, participants from the previous generation, was presented. Afternoon part of the training on Sunday was organized for the mentors of this cycle, and was held by Stella Karl Ćosić, an alumni mentor and coach with great experience in business and management at the highest level. The focus of this training was on the successful communication and building a successful mentoring relationship. During the training, mentors from previous generations Ana Pejović, Asja Radonjić, Dobrivoje Erić and Iva Eraković joined, sharing their knowledge and experience from the program. The opportunity to hear the experiences of participants from previous cycles is very valuable for both mentors and mentees who are at the beginning of this process and it can greatly help them build a mentoring relationship.          

Creative Mentorship is a program that affirms and encourages mentoring as a form of lifelong learning and the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experience between established professionals, mentors and future professionals, mentees. The program has been implemented for eight years now, and the Creative Mentorship alumni network is composed of 200 exceptional individuals. The fifth one-year cycle begins in September 2019. and lasts until September 2020. The participants of this cycle come from different fields of culture, art, media and creative industries, and they all have in common the fact that they want to achieve positive changes in society through their work.

The monthly mentor and mentee meetings began on September, and the first joint event within the educational program is organized in October.
