Creative Mentorship at the DigiTalk Conference in Niš
At the invitation of our mentor, Ivan Minić, at the end of October, we held a presentation at the DigiTalk Conference in Niš, as part of the DigiTalk Media Days. The DigiTalk Conference brings together people who are not afraid to share their failures, processes, and ideas. It is in that honesty and openness that a new kind of strength is born – collective, genuine, and long-lasting.
Our programme manager, Katarina Mitić Minić, spoke in her presentation about mentorship as a principle of lifelong learning and about how each of us can take the first steps toward finding a mentor. The audience consisted of professionals from the fields of media and marketing, and through the example of a mentoring pair from the media sector — Lana Nikolić, media worker and activist, and Miša Stojiljković, psychologist and journalist — we illustrated how a mentoring relationship can become a key space for personal insight, professional growth, and a shift in perspective on learning and career development.
This presentation was an opportunity for participants to receive practical advice on how to independently start a mentoring relationship and adopt mentorship as a tool for personal and professional development.
In addition to running mentoring programmes for professionals in culture, arts, creative industries, and media across the Western Balkans and Europe, the Creative Mentorship team also supports companies and other organizations in developing and implementing their own mentoring programs, thus strengthening their employees and organizational capacities.
Ivan Minić, one of the organizers of the DigiTalk Conference, is a mentor in the ongoing Creative Mentorship for Young Professionals programme. This programme is supported by the British Council as part of the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) project. CC4WBs is a project funded by the European Union with the aim of fostering dialogue in the Western Balkans by strengthening the cultural and creative sectors for greater socio-economic impact.
